Door Material Guide

Lacquer, acrylic, membrane, melamine and solid wood

Door Material Guide

The door material is what confuses people most when choosing a kitchen. This page summarises, objectively, the door types Evrena offers with their strengths and limits.

Door types

  • Matt lacquer: A silky touch with five coats of PU paint and no fingerprints. Medium scratch resistance, on-site touch-up possible.
  • High-gloss acrylic: Deep gloss and high colour saturation; scratch-resistant with high UV colour fastness.
  • Membrane (PVC wrap): Suited to embossed classic profiles, water-repellent and budget-friendly.
  • Melamine / laminate: Wood-pattern, scratch-resistant and the most affordable option.
  • Solid wood / veneer: A warm texture for rustic and classic styles; the finish can be renewed.

Which material where?

Around the hob and hood we recommend heat-resistant acrylic or melamine; near the sink, water-repellent membrane or lacquer; on visible surfaces such as an island, matt lacquer or solid wood. All doors can be seen as sample panels in our showrooms.

Choosing colour and texture

The same colour looks different in morning daylight and in yellow evening light. We therefore suggest evaluating samples in your home's light at different times of day. All 62 colours and 14 textures are available as physical samples in our showrooms.
